spedite le vostre obiezioni URGENTEMENTE alla proposta di allevamento in batteria di conigli. La scadenza era lo scorso sabato, ma crediamo che le obiezioni saranno accettate ancora dal consiglio. E' molto più facile fermare questa terrificante industria ora - prima che diventi una "norma" come è successo con tutti gli animali "forzati all'allevamento". Mentre preparavo questa email ho trovato nel "Sun-Herald" (19 settembre 2004) un articolo che promuoveva la carne di coniglio come cibo.

Scrivete a "Sun-Herald" ed esprimete il vostro disappunto in merito alla promozione di un'altra forma crudele di "animali allevati industrialmente".

URGENTE - AIUTA LA PROTESTA PER LA PROPOSTA DI ALLEVAMENTO IN BATTERIA DI CONIGLI

E' stata fatta una richiesta programmata per un nuovo allevamento intensivo di conigli ad Anakie, Victoria. L'allevamento di conigli proposto prevede di confinare 45.000 conigli in gabbie a batteria all'interno di otto baracche. Dopo una vita miserabile con appena un po' di spazio per muoversi, questi conigli saranno mandati al macello. Questo metodo di allevamento è inevitabilmente crudele. La prassi prevede che ciascun coniglio adulto avrà solo 18 cm. quadrati di spazio. I conigli confinati in gabbia possono soffrire di pododermatiti ulcerative consistenti in ulcere ricoperte di croste nelle zampe posteriori. Questo può essere causato dalla pressione di corpi pesanti su un piano fatto di filo di ferro, o da un eccessivo battito di piedoni dei conigli più nervosi. I conigli sono destinati a trascorrere la loro intera vita in gabbia con altri conigli in enormi baracche, privati di tutti i loro istinti naturali.

Tu puoi dare il tuo aiuto. E' vitale che questa richiesta (No. 386 - 2004 per allevamento di conigli al 1485-1575 Ballan Road, Anakie) riceva più obiezioni possibili da tutti noi. Le obiezioni via email sono accettate nel momento in cui ti identifichi chiaramente con il tuo nome ed il tuo indirizzo.

La scadenza delle obiezioni era Sabato 11 settembre 2004, ma le obiezioni sono accettate fino a che il consiglio non prenda decisioni in merito alla faccenda, quindi c'è ancora tempo per accettarle oltre la scadenza.

I write my objection against proposed battery rabbit farm (No. 386 - 2004 for a rabbit farm at 1485-1575 Ballan Road, Anakie).

A planning application has been lodged for a new intensive rabbit farm in Anakie, Victoria. The proposed rabbit farm will confine 45,000 rabbits to battery cages in eight sheds. After a miserable life with barely enough room to move these rabbits will be sent to slaughter. This method of farming is undeniably cruel, with the code of practice only allowing an 18cm/sq space for each adult rabbit. Caged rabbits can suffer from ulcerative pododermatitis (also called "sore hocks") consisting of scab-covered ulcers on the hind legs. This may be caused by the pressure of heavy body weight on a wire floor, or by excessive stamping of the feet by nervous rabbits. The rabbits are doomed to spend their entire lives caged with other rabbits in huge sheds, deprived of all natural instincts.

I ask that the proposed battery rabbit farm (No. 386 - 2004 for a rabbit farm at 1485-1575 Ballan Road, Anakie) is not accepted.

Dear friends Please send your objection URGENTLY to this proposed BATTERY RABBIT FARM. The dead line was last Saturday, but we believe that objections will be still accepted by council (see info below). It is much easier to stop this horrific industry now - before it will become a "norm" as it had happened with all "forced to be farmed" animals. While preparing this email I found in the "Sun-Herald" (19 September 2004) an article promoting eating flesh of rabbit (see attachment). Please write to "Sun-Herald" and express your disappointment about S-H promoting yet another cruel form of "industrial farming of animals". The objection deadline was on Saturday 11th SEP, 2004, but objections are accepted up until council decides the matter so there is still room to get objections in past the due date.
